First Home- Singapore's Largest Development EC, Sol Acres

Being a young couple, Matt and I have spent quite a bit of time talking and planning for our future together. Not only are our finances in the talks, our future talks somehow always revolved around the big ticket items that we have to start planning for, with the bulk of the conversation surrounding housing.

Yes, housing! 

I'm sure all young couples agree with me, that this is the biggest headache we all face because there are lots of factors to consider before we dive into purchasing our first home together. Now let me share with you guys the few things we always talk about when it comes to making the decision to buy a home.

1. What type of home are we looking at? A HDB, BTO, Executive Condominium, or a private house?

2. How much is it? Can we afford it based on our income?

4. Size and if applicable, are there any facilities ?

So today, I'm gonna share with you guys one of the latest discovery we found, Singapore's Biggest Executive Condo (EC) development project, Sol Acres.

We headed down to their showroom the other day and it was such an eye opening experience for us, first timers actually! 

This huge development sold like hot cakes and it's no surprise why, not only because ECs have always known to be good investments (they turn into private condos after 5 years), but because Sol Acres is in fact, pretty affordable! 

Only limited 1-bedroom units are left.

One of  the biggest takeaways from this viewing was definitely how the thought of owning an EC is not that far away, a 1 bedroom unit at Sol Acres is going for around SGD$370,000 and up. 

This means that a couple of a combined income of SGD$4,500 and above will be able to afford a unit like that comfortably. Shocking right? 

Matt and I were brought around the 1-bedroom unit in the showroom and boy, I envisioned it to be reallllyyyyy cramped and small but I was wrong! That size is perfect for a young couple to live in.

Sol Acres even has an Interior Design Package going on, if you're interested in moving in hassle-free without worrying about the renovations etc, you can!

There is an all in, designed and fully-furnished option which you can opt for at at a subsidized price. Which is a STEAL because everyone knows an average house would cost you at least $30,000 to renovate, much less include the cost of furniture.

I personally felt that this development is amazing and really suitable for young couples that are looking to purchase their first homes together.
